Senior Accountant - Orlando, FL - United States ONSITE OPPORTUNITY

Summary:

Morgan & Morgan is seeking a Senior Accountant in our Downtown Orlando office. This individual will assist with the day-to-day accounting operations of the firm, including bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, bonus sheet preparation, and unclaimed property compliance. The Senior Accountant will also assist with preparations for audits and work to resolve accounting inaccuracies or imbalances. This position reports to the Orlando Controller and has contact with senior-level attorneys which requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years or more private or public accounting working experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting/Finance Required
  • Master's degree in Accounting/Finance Preferred not required

  • Record daily and monthly transactions while adhering to GAAP
  • Assist with Month End Close
  • Operate with Due Diligence to support Accurate and Timely Financials
  • Reconcile Intercompany Balances
  • Identify solutions to Bank Reconciliation Discrepancies
  • Assist with Audit Preparation
  • Accounting Support to Controller
  • Liaison with other offices to gain insight
  • Analyzing and Reporting Cost Variances
  • Daily Bank Reconciliation
  • Financial Statement Preparation/Commission Report Preparation
  • Support third party relationships with Bankers/External Auditors
  • Maintain monthly Bank/Credit Card records
  • Work with Compliance to report Unclaimed Property Annually
  • Provide continuous follow-up to unresolved Bank/Account concerns
  • Provide guidance when needed with Staff Accountants
