We tackle many of today's toughest education obstacles, including teacher certification, test preparation, professional learning, curriculum, consulting, and strategic planning. Our divisions include iteach, Passage Preparation, Professional Development Institute, Teaching Channel, Lavinia Group, and Keys to Literacy.
About iteach
iteach is a competency-based educator preparation program helping to fill the void the nation faces with the unprecedented teacher shortage. iteach offers state-approved educator preparation programs in multiple states, enabling recent graduates, career changers, paraprofessionals, substitute teachers, and others to earn their educator licensure through an affordable, flexible, and fully online pathway. Notably, iteach was the first educator preparation program outside of an institution of higher education to earn accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
Employment: Part-Time Variable Position - less than 20 hours per week, with variable hours depending on seasonal demand

The Opportunity
As an edTPA Coach at iteach, you will play a critical role in guiding and supporting teacher candidates in Alabama and North Carolina as they prepare for the edTPA assessment, a required step for certification in these states. Every iteach alternative certification candidate, educators enrolled in our program to earn their teaching license, will be assigned an edTPA Coach to provide expert guidance, structured support, and individualized coaching throughout their portfolio preparation. the EdTPA Coach reports to the Manager, Instruction.
In this role, you will:
  • Help candidates navigate the complexities of edTPA, including artifact creation, submission requirements, and state-specific expectations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, leveraging your experience in teaching, edTPA preparation, and certification requirements.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching, instructional guidance, and targeted feedback on edTPA portfolio artifacts.
  • Facilitate peer mentoring and cohort-based learning experiences via Zoom.
  • Guide candidates through Course 5810 (Pathway to edTPA) and/or Course 5700 (Congratulations, You're Hired!).
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on sample artifact submissions in alignment with edTPA standards.

This part-time role is ideal for current educators looking to supplement their full-time work while making a meaningful impact on the preparation and certification success of aspiring teachers.
What You'll Do
A few hours a week can make a lasting impact on aspiring teachers!
  • Flexible, part-time commitment with a mix of asynchronous and synchronous support.
  • Engage with candidates through online coaching, discussion boards, and one-on-one mentorship.
  • Provide expert guidance on edTPA artifacts and portfolio submissions.
  • Host periodic Zoom cohort meetings to support collaboration and peer mentorship.
  • Grade and provide feedback on assignments and edTPA portfolio components.
  • 2-semester commitment required to ensure candidates receive consistent support.
  • Other Duties: Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications
  • Active state-specific teaching certification in Alabama or North Carolina.
  • Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience.
  • Experience supporting edTPA preparation, submission, and review processes.
  • Prior experience as an edTPA scorer is a plus!
  • Experience teaching in an online or hybrid learning environment (preferred).
  • Strong communication and feedback skills to guide candidates effectively.

Compensation Range
