Responsibilities
Summary
The Program Facilitator helps program participants develop pro-social thinking and behaviors through the delivery of cognitive behavioral and evidence-based curricula. Facilitates group programming sessions in areas such as anger management, preventing violence, and critical thinking.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The Program Facilitator delivers gender-responsive and trauma-informed programming using curriculum-based group sessions.
- Utilizes evidence-based practices to enhance participant engagement and motivation.
- The Program Facilitator conducts participant program orientations and intakes.
- Maintains group rosters, attendance records, and documentation of progress.
- As appropriate, assists participants in planning for release to the community.
- Assists in the coordination of participant program schedules to ensure that all programming needs are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field; or possess a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) designation or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of qualifying experience.
- Previous experience as a facilitator / educator / group moderator with the criminal justice population.
- Valid driver's license and access to an operable vehicle.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal skills.
- Knowledgeable and comfortable when discussing difficult topics.
- Comfortable and effective in dealing with conflict.
- Extensive organizational skills and pay attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule as hours may vary each week, to include evening sessions.
