Position Overview

Office Products Plus is seeking a motivated, results-driven Business Development Manager to grow our commercial customer base throughout the Jackson metro area and surrounding Mississippi markets.

This is a new business development role focused on identifying prospects, building relationships, and winning new B2B accounts. The ideal candidate is a proven salesperson who enjoys prospecting, meeting with customers, developing relationships, and closing business.

Our customers include businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, government entities, churches, professional offices, and other commercial organizations.

We provide customers with a broad range of workplace products and services, including office products, janitorial and facility supplies, breakroom supplies, commercial furniture, and related business solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new B2B sales opportunities throughout the assigned territory
  • Prospect for new customers through phone calls, email, networking, referrals, and in-person visits
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with prospective customers
  • Develop relationships with business owners, purchasing managers, facility managers, office managers, school administrators, and other decision-makers
  • Evaluate customer needs and identify opportunities across multiple product categories
  • Prepare proposals, pricing, presentations, and account conversion plans
  • Convert prospects into long-term Office Products Plus customers
  • Develop opportunities for office products, janitorial supplies, facility supplies, breakroom products, and commercial furniture
  • Build and maintain an active sales pipeline
  • Consistently follow up with prospects and opportunities
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions
  • Work closely with internal customer service, purchasing, operations, and management teams
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships after winning new accounts


Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a salesperson who is comfortable creating business rather than waiting for leads.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of B2B outside sales or business development experience
  • A demonstrated history of developing new accounts
  • Strong prospecting and cold-calling skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and closing new business
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a territory
  • Professional appearance and communication style
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
