Job description

County Toppers, your go-to truck, Jeep, and SUV accessory store, is seeking a Truck Top Installer to join our team. This position is responsible for professionally installing truck tops, tonneau covers, and other truck and SUV accessories while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install truck tops, tonneau covers, bed accessories, and other truck and SUV accessories according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment.
  • Inspect vehicles and accessories prior to installation to identify potential concerns or compatibility issues.
  • Ensure all installations are completed accurately, securely, and to quality standards.
  • Assist customers with questions regarding installed products and basic product operation.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of truck, Jeep, and SUV accessories and installation procedures.
  • Utilize computer systems to look up parts, access product information, process sales, and manage inventory as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe installation area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturer installation guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory, receiving, and other store operations as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and manufacturer installation specifications.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Automotive or accessory installation experience preferred but not required.
  • 12-volt electrical wiring knowledge is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous automotive, truck accessory, mechanical, or installation experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with truck tops, tonneau covers, or other aftermarket automotive accessories is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds and safely work with hand and power tools. The employee must be able to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment and frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or awkward positions while accessing vehicle installation areas.

The position may require repetitive tasks and working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and exposure to automotive chemicals. Employees must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
