Job Purpose:

This position requires an experienced truck driver to service the Northern Nevada area in a safe and timely manner while providing a high level of customer service.

Requirements

Special Conditions or Certifications of Employment:

  • Valid Nevada driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Pre-employment Background Check Required
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen Required


Required Certifications (if applicable)

  • Nevada CDL Class A with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to navigate using a map and GPS (knowledge of Northern Nevada a plus)
  • Flexible Schedule is a requirement
  • Able to read, speak, and write in English


Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-year experience driving a commercial box truck GVW <26,000 lb.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 6 Months manual transmission experience.
  • 1-year experience in a warehouse environment.
  • 1-year experience operating electric pallet jack.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent public relations and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform as an effective, positive team member.
  • Impeccable ethical business practices.
  • Strong writing and speaking skills
  • Must be responsive, accountable, and detail oriented with a problem-solving orientation
  • Proactive and self-starter attitude - ability to work independently in a fast-paced and agile environment is a benefit
  • Strong team member
  • Demonstrated track record in managing tasks and/or small projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work on multiple teams and take direction from multiple project managers, in multiple geographic locations
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in using Microsoft Professional Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Internet search engines and databases


Essential Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Able to train backup drivers on assigned route(s)
  • Assist in warehouse tasks such as fulfillment, receiving, shipping, and replenishment.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal driving regulations
  • Fills out and distributes reporting accurately, clearly, and timely
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies


Load/Unload trucks:

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the warehouse, delivery sites and vehicles.
  • Make scheduled deliveries and pick-ups as directed by Management
  • Provide excellent customer service to agencies, clients, and internal customers
  • Provide "ride-alongs" for staff
  • Reports issues that arise along route(s) to leadership timely (customer service, damage, maintenance, etc...)
  • Responsible for safe operation of trucks, forklifts, and equipment
  • Timely pickup and deliveries

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. They will also be required to frequently lift 60 lb.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
  • Job tasks will include working in refrigerated units at temperatures below 30 degrees.


Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outdoor conditions.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays hours will vary based on scheduled deliveries.

  • Start times will vary from 5:00 am to 8:00 am.
  • Hours will vary depending on traffic, distance to delivery, and weather conditions.
  • Overtime does apply


Travel

  • This position may require overnight trips to rural delivery sites on occasion.
