Job description

Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

A well-designed and secure network is critical to moving data and enabling DoD to achieve its mission, but how can an organization make sure its network will fit its current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to craft the exact network, the DoD needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you'll work with the DoD to develop a reliable network to support critical missions. You'll collaborate with SMEs, customers, and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You'll then share your expertise during the planning of the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you'll put your hardware and software talents to good use. This is your chance to share your experience with backbone networks, cloud technologies, and core networking while broadening your network engineering work. Join us as we help protect our country's defense networks.
Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions, including VMWare, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, or Juniper

  • Experience with classified networks

  • Knowledge of security, routing, and switching protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, or L3VPNs

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of hire

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with STIGing or security hardening of systems

  • Experience with NESSUS, ACAS, or security analysis tools

  • Experience with operating, deploying, or administering Linux or Unix systems and VMWare

  • CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, Linux, JNCIA, or JNCP Certification

  • Security+ Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
