Job description

The Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of card-based/Fob and keypad/PIN electronic access control systems. Working primarily as an independent technician, this role involves managing all aspects of physical security hardware including cabling, wiring, and testing of control panels and electronic locks. The position requires local site visits to ensure systems function reliably and securely.

Responsibilities

  • Install access control systems including card readers/Fobs and keypad/PIN interfaces
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing electronic access control equipment
  • Test system functionality and perform quality checks
  • Run cabling and wiring for control panels and electronic locks
  • Deploy and configure control panels, relays, maglocks, and electric strikes
  • Conduct local site visits for installation and maintenance tasks

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in access control systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with access control systems installation and maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electronic access control equipment
  • Proficient in running cables and wiring for control panels and relays
  • Skilled in installing maglocks and electric strikes
