ACCESS CONTROL TECHNICIAN
Valid Driver's License & Clean Driving Record Required
American Fence Company is looking for an experienced and self-directed Access Control Technician to join our Omaha team of industry professionals. The Access Control Technician is responsible for estimating, planning, coordinating, and installing new automated access control systems, and evaluating and repairing existing systems. Our system installations range from sophisticated DOD crash rated barriers to straightforward slide gate operators with keypad entry. In addition to nuclear power plants and Strategic Air Command, American Fence Company has provided security solutions to companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate installations with sales team, project management, and installation crews.
  • Interpret plans and specifications relevant to new systems.?
  • Prepare submittals that demonstrate access control equipment locations and necessary wiring.
  • Complete installation, low voltage connections, and equipment programming, ensuring compliance with all current codes; review with customers.
  • Review and diagnose existing systems for repair and compliance, present proposals to customers, and perform repairs.
  • Order and track receipt of required equipment.
  • Complete pre-invoice billing information and provide required documentation for submittal to project manager.
  • Participate in on-going training activities.
  • Assist in instructing new sales staff on access control installations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in low voltage wiring and termination; knowledgeable in low voltage electrical components.
  • Experienced in welding.
  • Practiced in use of hand tools and small power tools.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis, and to frequently stand, walk, climb, stoop, dig and kneel while performing repairs and installation of equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; CDL preferred
