JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the safe operation of attractions, shows, and water and dry play areas at Universal Kids Resort theme park while delivering exemplary Guest service. Ensures Guest service recovery standards are met and policies and procedures are followed. Supports effective teamwork across Operations in support of a seamless Guest experience at Universal Kids Resort.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the proper use of safety practices and procedures while operating the attraction, show or play area in addition to opening and closing procedures. In a friendly and professional manner, discreetly screens Guests for ride requirements, special access needs, and ushers Guests as necessary. Loads and unloads ride or show, checks ride restraints and lap bars, provides safety instructions, operates control consoles, dispatches vehicles and observes ride monitors to ensure the safe operation of the attraction. Safely evacuates the ride in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Welcome and engage Guests by delivering themed narrations or story lines and providing attraction or show information/times. Monitors the queue, makes appropriate adjustments and measures attraction wait times. Ensures kid-focused Guest service standards are met and all IBCCES standards are utilized. Assists with Guest flow and crowd control for show capacity and weather conditions.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment by constantly monitoring the immediate area and/or surroundings. Responsible for ensuring a neat and organized work area, trash removal and keeping the area free of debris to include the proper maintenance of equipment and/or props.
  • Supports seasonal and special events at Universal Kids Resort by assisting with arrivals and check-in of event Guests and facilitates movement of groups throughout the park while partnering with other departments for a seamless Guest experience. Assists with projects, initiatives and sustainment efforts as directed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and operate ride vehicles and moving machinery.
  • Regularly required to ride the attraction/ride to ensure show quality and that special effects are in the proper working order including lighting, sound, animatronics and general maintenance.
  • Responsible for evacuating the attraction/ride and assisting Guests through various evacuation methods.
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous theme park experience or hospitality is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
