Job Description:
Ride Attendants at SV are responsible for:
  • Operating rides and providing exemplary guest service which includes but is not limited to the following: loading and unloading the ride, check ride restraints and lap bars, provide safety instructions and ensure compliance, assist guest with special access, operate the control console and dispatch the vehicles, watch that the ride is being operated safely. Evacuate the rides in the case of a shut down. Deliver appropriate scripts and/or spiels.
  • Welcoming and greeting guests, screen for appropriate attire and height requirements, provide guests with ride information, monitor the queue lines and make appropriate adjustments, measure ride wait times and keep the area neat and organized.
  • Understand and demonstrate the proper use of safety practices while opening, operating, and closing of the park. Monitor rides and ensure appropriate Safety Procedures are followed as instructed.
  • Monitor rides and attractions continuously for safety concerns and unusual noises, smells or visual concerns and communicate to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Constantly monitor immediate area and surroundings for trash and debris and assist in its removal as needed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health amp; Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform the role of a Ride Attendant successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment and operate ride vehicles and moving machinery.
  • Responsible for evacuating the ride and assisting guest through various evacuation methods including: extreme heights, various types of platforms, stairs or ladders and other acceptable evacuation methods.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and where lighting is used to replicate various effects including: weather conditions, night or daylight, strobe and other special effects.
  • Must be able to communicate via phone, intercom, radio and control panel.
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate and follow safety instructions and procedures.
  • Required to follow ride operation manual and successfully complete training test.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 17 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Meet scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Rides Attendant job.
  • Work with repetitive motion including; extending reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting greater than 30x’s per hour.
  • Use arms and hands to push and pull lap bars.
  • Lift 25lbs or more regularly.
  • Visually distinguish hand signals at a distance of up to 50 ft.
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Rides Attendant job.
  • Be exposed to working with vibrating equipment/tools.
  • Be exposed to loud noise requiring elevated voices to communicate to Team Members nearby.
  • Working at heights greater than 4 ft.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), occasionally exposed to extreme cold (non-weather)
  • While performing this job, coming in contact with human/non-human bodily fluids will occur daily. Ex: feces, vomit, blood, etc.
