Job description

Job Summary: 

Providing in-home assistance with non-medical Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal care, light housekeeping, and basic activities of daily living as described below.

Risk Of Occupational Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens: high exposure

Qualifications: 

• Speaks, reads, and writes English, and is able to communicate effectively. Speaking additional languages is a plus!

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. 

• Possess state issued Driver's License and auto insurance.

• Must pass a criminal background check (Federal, State, Local, DMV, CAPS, DORA, OIG)

• Must pass a drug panel including active marijuana use.

Responsibilities: 

• Personal hygiene: bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting

• Light house cleaning, meal preparation and feeding, companionship, as well as assistance with activities outside the home for clients. 

• Assist in range of motion exercises and other procedures as instructed.

• Assistance in completing activities outside the home, such as shopping or laundry

Companionship, including but not limited to: social interaction, conversation, emotional reassurance, encouragement of reading, writing, and activities that stimulate the mind. 

Provide services spelled out in the service plan and in accordance with the company policies. 

• Complete service notes after each visit, including services provided.

• Reporting environmental concerns or changes in the client status that may impact the safety and security of the client to the company supervisor or manager. 

• Maintain Consumer confidentiality per HIPAA and Agency policy guidelines, follow Consumer Rights, and all Agency Policies and Procedures

• Follow emergency procedures in the event of any medical or non-medical situations. 

Functional Abilities: 

• Complete agency training or have verified experience in the provision of home care tasks and successful competency testing. 

• (Preferred) Is able to lift, turn and transfer Consumers weighting up to 150 pounds.

• Is able to carry bundles weighing up to 10 pounds including up stairs

• Must be able to stoop and bend repeatedly. 

• Must be able to travel to prospective Consumer’s place of residence. 

• Must be able to hear and effectively communicate in English.
