The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to enhancing the well-being of students dealing with mental health challenges, and demonstrate the expertise necessary to deliver quality care in a flexible, remote environment while operating within the educational framework.

About the Organization

At Polaris Psychotherapy Services, we are driven by our mission to promote healthier communities through quality, safe, and patient-centered healthcare services. Our primary focus is on serving medically underserved areas, ensuring that no one is excluded from receiving care, irrespective of their ability to pay. We aspire to set an example for other health centers by embracing local and global perspectives, all while nurturing the individual needs of the communities we serve.

Work Environment

This role offers a unique remote work setting, allowing you to provide support and therapy to students from the comfort of your own home while maintaining a flexible schedule. Our typical work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some evening or weekend hours occasionally necessary to accommodate client needs. This flexibility enables you to better align with the unpredictable schedule of school environments and the availability of students seeking support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for clients experiencing major mental illnesses and severe emotional disorders, specifically tailored to the school environment.
  • Engage actively in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to collaborative care strategies aimed at achieving shared objectives for student mental health.
  • Demonstrate respectful and effective communication while working with students, parents, educators, and support staff to foster a supportive therapy experience.
  • Advocate for and implement changes within the school system that promote mental health awareness, encourage student well-being, and facilitate a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Polaris Psychotherapy Services to ensure the highest level of care.
  • Utilize the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system for documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with organizational policies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with school-aged children and adolescents who may be facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma. Your intervention will not only strive to alleviate symptoms but also empower students through educational initiatives about mental health and wellness, ensuring they thrive both academically and personally.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, with a current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) designation in the state of Georgia is required.
  • Strong expertise in mental health assessment techniques, risk assessment, and crisis management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills which are essential for effective time management in a remote work environment.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of direct clinical experience working with children and adolescents is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with school systems and educational policies related to mental health is a plus.
  • Experience in implementing evidence-based practices tailored for school settings.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance plans designed to ensure your well-being.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer-matching to support your future.
  • A generous paid time off policy, including holidays, sick leave, and personal days to promote work-life balance.
  • Life insurance coverage to provide financial security for you and your family.
  • Potential sign-on bonus for the right candidate.
