NEW AC Hotel National Mall | Washington, DC Opening Spring 2027

Lead the Opening. Build the Team. Define the Guest Experience.

An exciting new opportunity awaits an accomplished hospitality leader to oversee the opening of the brand-new AC Hotel National Mall, scheduled to debut in Spring 2027.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager with a passion for hotel openings, team development, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. If you've successfully led a Marriott hotel, managed a pre-opening, or are ready to bring your leadership expertise to one of Washington, DC's most anticipated hotel openings, we'd love to meet you.

This is a unique opportunity to build a hotel from the ground up—from recruiting your leadership team and establishing hotel culture to driving financial success and launching an outstanding guest experience from day one.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the hotel's pre-opening planning, opening execution, and ongoing operations. This includes financial performance, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, sales strategy, revenue growth, and ensuring full compliance with Marriott brand standards.

The successful candidate is a hands-on leader who inspires teams, drives results, embraces accountability, and creates an exceptional workplace culture.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead all phases of the hotel's pre-opening process
  • Develop and execute the critical path for opening
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop the hotel's leadership and associate teams
  • Establish operational standards that exceed Marriott brand expectations
  • Drive revenue, profitability, and market share
  • Partner with Sales, Revenue Management, and Marketing to maximize performance
  • Deliver outstanding guest satisfaction and associate engagement scores
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, labor, and financial performance
  • Build relationships within the local Washington, DC community
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety regulations, and company policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Hotel General Manager
  • Pre-opening General Manager or hotel opening experience strongly preferred
  • Marriott brand experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading full-service, lifestyle, or upscale select-service hotels
  • Proven success improving RevPAR, GOP, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement
  • Strong financial management and budgeting experience
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Passion for delivering memorable guest experiences
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary:$150,000

Annual Bonus Opportunity : Up to 40%
