Job description

Position Summary

The Interventional Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will serve as a key clinical and operational member of the Mitral and Tricuspid Valve Program, delivering advanced, coordinated care to patients with complex structural heart disease. This role is modeled after highacuity Structural Heart/TAVR APP programs and is designed for an APP with strong clinical expertise, leadership capability, and experience managing patients with advanced heart failure and/or valvular disease.

The APP will function independently and collaboratively across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting procedural pathways, longitudinal valve disease management, quality initiatives, and program growth

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced clinical care to structural heart patients, including rapid assessment, diagnosis, and medical management of mitral and tricuspid valve disease
  • Serve as a clinical leader within the Mitral/Tricuspid Valve Program, supporting program development, growth, and care standardization
  • Develop, implement, and maintain evidencebased protocols and care pathways for mitral and tricuspid valve disease
  • Coordinate care with interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, cardiothoracic surgery, imaging, and critical care teams
  • Participate in inpatient rounding and consultative management for structural heart patients and the interventional cardiology inpatient service PRN
  • Provide PRN backup support to other structural heart programs (e.g., TAVR, complex coronary)
  • Collaborate with quality and analytics teams to support registry participation, data integrity, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in research activities, abstract development, publication efforts, and new therapy implementation related to valve disease
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare providers on structural heart disease, disease progression, and treatment options
  • Remain current with evolving guidelines, best practices, and emerging technologies in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for APP colleagues as the program evolves

Qualifications

Required

  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Florida
  • Acute Care or Adult Gerontology Acute Care certification required for APRNs
  • National certification required for PAs
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an APP
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cardiology as an APP

Preferred

  • Prior experience in interventional cardiology, structural heart, or valve programs
  • Strong background in heart failure management and/or valve disease
  • Experience in Advanced Heart Failure and/or Critical Care environments
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in program development, quality initiatives, or clinical leadership

  • Holiday coverage required
  • Weekend coverage may be added in the future
  • Position supports both inpatient and outpatient care models, with growth toward subspecialty program leadership
