Job description

Rightstone is looking for an Oracle-proficient Procurement Specialist in Houston, TX (Aldine Westfield Rd). The pay rate is $33.00 – $35.00/hr for a long-term 12-month contract with strong potential for renewal.

In this role, you will join Baker Hughes, a global leader in energy technology, supporting critical oilfield manufacturing operations. You will act as the operational link between production planners and international suppliers—safely managing the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle within Oracle ERP. From validating complex requisitions and generating purchase orders to managing short-cycle farm-out repairs and expediting critical parts, your accuracy directly impacts facility production uptime. This is an ideal role for an analytical, process-driven supply chain professional looking to make a massive impact with an industry giant.

What you will do:

  • Create, issue, and manage high-volume Purchase Orders (POs) and Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs) flawlessly within Oracle ERP.
  • Review and validate technical purchase requisitions (PORs) to ensure absolute data integrity prior to PO generation.
  • Navigate multiple advanced Oracle modules to track PO history, evaluate supply/demand metrics, and analyze view-only inventory data.
  • Own the supplier relationship for key vendors, executing tactical releases, expediting delayed materials, and resolving invoice payment discrepancies.
  • Support fast-paced, short-cycle farm-out and repair logistics, collaborating closely with a network of approximately 20 specialized suppliers.
  • Drive daily and weekly production meetings by leveraging Advanced Excel to compile, filter, and present real-time material and part status updates.
  • Issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs), clarify technical material requirements, and maintain meticulous, audit-ready digital PO documentation.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 2+ years of dedicated procurement, buying, or supply chain experience within an industrial manufacturing or oilfield services environment.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Oracle ERP is strictly required (candidates must be comfortable navigating multiple screens, checking PO histories, and executing releases).
  • Advanced capabilities utilizing Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data sorting) to track supply statuses outside of the ERP.
  • Proven experience managing supplier relations, including a track record of successful expediting, RFQ management, and vendor negotiation.
  • Strong familiarity with technical procurement workflows, including managing blanket purchase orders (BPOs) and farm-out repair activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface confidently with suppliers, production leads, and executive stakeholders via Microsoft Teams and email.

This is a temporary/contract position. While benefits (Health, 401k, PTO) are not provided during the contract period, they may become available upon successful conversion to a permanent role.
