Job description

MMCR is looking for a cardiovascular Surgery NP/PA for the below coverage.
BID DUE DATE: FIRST TO FILL
Dates of coverage:
  • Oct 9-13
  • Nov 6-10
  • Nov 13-17
  • All shifts including weekends are 10 hrs onsite, then night call.
  • All shifts 7a-5p onsite then night call 5p-7a. Call back is very minimal.

  • All shifts, including weekends are 10 hours onsite then night call.
  • Cardiovascular NP/PA's with recent CV surgery experience to be considered. Substantial experience in endovascular vein harvesting (EVH) required! Please specify experience on presentation.
  • Trauma Level/Designation: Level II Trauma Center
  • Average Number of Admissions per Provider per day: n/a
  • Patients admitted by CV surgeon
  • Required Procedures: Must have recent and substantial cardiovascular surgical assist experience.
  • ACLS, BLS, DEA - Required
  • EMR: Cerner Care B with SurgiNet
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • We are currently doing about 10-11 heart surgeries per month, but we also do other thoracic cases that the PA may assist with.
  • We do rounds every morning and the PAs are writing notes on post op patient, sometimes that is a shared duty with the surgeons.
  • We usually have less than 10 patients in the hospital at a time.
  • We do the follow-up clinic at the hospital in the afternoon on Tuesday and Thursday (often after a morning surgery) and see up to 6 patients. Once in a while we see a patient at other times if there is an issue that can't wait until our next clinic day.
CREDENTIALING INFORMATION:
  • Timeframe: 30-60 days
  • Requirements: (I.e., no license or hospital privilege/membership actions, no significant malpractice history) MUST be on active/current staff at a TJC accredited facility with unrestricted privileges.
  • Credentialing with other facilities? No
  • Billing enrollment - Is this position providing services in lieu of an existing enrolled provider for a period of 60 days or less?: No
Travel Preferences:
  • Preferred Lodging: Holiday Inn on Hilltop, Hampton Inn & Suites on Larkspur, Americana Modern Hotel
  • Air Travel: Local, no flights? Preferre
  • Travel Section - adjust first part to what provider will need up to "only" - "Flights, lodging, and car rental only. - Travel will abide by Travel Policy, except where otherwise indicated below."
  • If Lodging - "Reimbursed by Receipt - Preferred lodging per job description or up 1.5x the GSA rate."
  • If Car rental - "Reimbursed by Receipt - $65 'all-in' daily cap"
  • If mileage - "IRS Standard rate per CSH guidelines"
RATES TO SUBMIT:
  • Malpractice rates - Must be included in the rates.
  • Orientation rate (half the hourly rate, kicks in after 8 hours) - "Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours"
  • Hourly rate "Per hour, no OT"
  • Night call - (must include 2.5 hours gratis) - "Per night to hold the pager to include 2.5 hours gratis"
  • Call back - Must match the hourly rate - "per hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms"
  • Holiday - 1.5x regular rate - per CSH guideline. - follow rates notes and add "on a holiday"
