Description

Hill City Sports Center is seeking passionate, motivated, and knowledgeable Basketball Club Coaches to lead teams within our basketball club program. Coaches will play a key role in athlete development by teaching basketball fundamentals, game strategy, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship in a positive and competitive environment.

This position is ideal for individuals who are committed to developing young athletes both on and off the court.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead organized team practices and skill development sessions

  • Teach basketball fundamentals, offensive and defensive concepts, and game strategy

  • Prepare teams for league play, tournaments, and competitive events

  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and team-focused culture

  • Provide constructive feedback and individual player development

  • Supervise athletes during practices, games, and tournaments

  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and club leadership

  • Promote sportsmanship, accountability, and athlete confidence

  • Assist with player evaluations, tryouts, and club events as needed

Qualifications
  • Previous basketball coaching and/or playing experience required

  • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and game strategy

  • Ability to motivate and mentor youth athletes

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and tournament schedules

  • Experience working with youth and adolescent athletes preferred

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school, AAU, collegiate, or club coaching experience

  • Playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or competitive club level

  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus

  • Experience with athlete development and team building


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to actively participate in practices and demonstrations

  • Ability to stand and move throughout practices and tournaments

  • Ability to lift and transport basketball equipment when needed
