Job description

Hematology/Coagulation Technical Consultant (Lead MLS)

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75231

Work hours: Full-time Weekdays 8:00am-4:30pm, occasional weekends required.

Here's What You Need

      Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science required

      Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program required

      Four years' experience in a Medical Laboratory required

      Two  years of hospital lab experience preferred

      Two years of leadership experience preferred

      Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong customer service skills

      MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist within 6 months required or MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist within 6 months required or other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology Upon Hire required or M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology within 6 months of Hire required or BB (ASCP) - Blood Banking if working in Blood Bank within 6 months of hire required

What You Will Do

  • Assists bench technologists in solving QC and technical problems.
  • Oversees distribution, reviews returned results, completes corrective action as needed.
  • Participates in yearly CAP checklist
  • Evaluates workload and assists as needed
  • Manage specimen management operations, including collection accuracy, appropriate resources, and reducing inventory costs
  • Research new methods and systems
  • Provides leadership and communication links between the technical staff, the managers, and the laboratory director.
  • Manages supplies, reagent inventory, costs and section charges.
