Job description

Business Summary:

The Asset Security Manager is responsible for the physical security of company facilities and the executive team. This role manages the building security contract, oversees security planning for company-sponsored and external events, and regularly assesses security risks across facilities. The position leads the development and implementation of safety protocols and serves as a primary responder for security threats, incidents, and emergencies. This role also provides direct security support and risk management for executive leadership, including the President and Chief Executive Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets.
  • Manages the building security contract, including vendor selection, service levels, performance monitoring, and issue resolution, to ensure effective and reliable security coverage across company facilities.
  • Serves as an oncall first responder for security threats, incidents, and emergencies, coordinating immediate response actions, engaging external emergency services as needed, and supporting postincident review and follow
  • Oversees security planning and execution for companysponsored and external events, including risk assessment, security vendor coordination, and onsite security oversight
  • Trains staff and establishes operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events.
  • Provides physical security support for the executive team, including event security planning and close coordination with internal and external partners to mitigate risks.
  • Travels with executives to key functions and events as required to support security planning and onsite risk management.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure effective communication, preparedness, and response related to security incidents and physical safety matters.
  • Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics: 

  • Strong knowledge of physical security principles, facility security operations, and incident response protocols.
  • Ability to assess security vulnerabilities, identify risks, and implement practical mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, decision-making, and calm response under pressure.
  • Experience developing emergency response, evacuation, workplace violence prevention, and crisis management plans.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with law enforcement, vendors, building management, and internal business partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver training and communicate security expectations clearly.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence others, coordinate response efforts, and drive accountability.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters and high-visibility incidents.
  • Working knowledge of security systems and controls, including alarms, surveillance, access control, and related technologies.
  • Approximately 30% of travel is required.

Education, Experience, & Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, emergency management, public safety, risk management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ related experience in physical security, corporate security, law enforcement, facilities security, executive protection, emergency management, or incident response.
  • Must possess a Class D Security Officer License and a Class G Statewide Firearm License.
  • Professional certification such as ASIS CPP, PSP, PCI, FEMA/ICS training, or related credential preferred.

Hiring Range: $92,280 - $116,280

This position is also eligible for participation in AAA, Inc.'s Annual Incentive Plan.
