Job Description

WCAU/NBC10, NBCUniversal Local's television station in Philadelphia, is looking for a Multiplatform Sports MMJ / Producer who can truly do it all - report, shoot, write, edit, produce, and create content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.

This is a hybrid role, split between field reporting and in-house producing, ideal for a journalist who sees sports as more than highlights - someone who can tell compelling stories about the people, issues, and culture shaping sports in a major market.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced newsroom, embraces multi-platform storytelling, and brings a strong understanding of the Philadelphia sports landscape.

This is a Thursday-Monday schedule, requiring flexibility for nights, weekends, holidays, and major sporting events. At least two days a week would be focused on producing and anchoring sportscasts, and up to 3 days a week would be content producing for news.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generate and pitch original sports story ideas; research, schedule, and conduct interviews
  • Report, write, shoot, and edit sports stories for broadcast, digital, and social platforms
  • Produce sports content, including sportscasts, segments, and shows, under tight deadlines
  • Cover live sporting events and breaking sports news with urgency and accuracy
  • Deliver live reports and storytelling that is compelling, engaging, and authentic
  • Create consistent digital and social content to expand reach and audience engagement
  • Actively use social media as a reporting tool and platform to promote stories
  • Build and maintain relationships with athletes, teams, and key community sources
  • Follow ongoing stories and develop enterprise content beyond day-of coverage
  • Work collaboratively across newsroom teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ensure all content complies with NBCUniversal standards, editorial guidelines, and journalistic ethics
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in News, Sports Reporting, MMJ work, and/or news/sports production
  • Proven ability to write, shoot, edit, and produce content independently
  • Experience producing sportscasts or newsroom content under deadline pressure preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sports, with the ability to cover both breaking news and enterprise stories
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be willing to work at the NBC10 Philadelphia station
  • Must be 18 years or older and have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must join SAG AFTRA  Union.
