- Clear knowledge of the rules and regulations of adult, youth, men, women, and coed volleyball.
- Skills in communicating effectively with managers, players, and spectators.
- Ability to be accurate, alert, observant, fair and able to make quick decisions and adhere to those decisions in high pressure situations. At times decisions will be unpopular.
- Ability to be firm and deal with criticism from a diverse group of people.
- Ability to make Scorekeeping and records keeping skills are desirable.
- Ability to provide an appropriate whistle and court shoes.
Material and Equipment Directly Used
Equipment such as whistly, volleyballs, scorekeeping and timing equipment.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a recreation setting. Must be able to walk, stand, run, hear and speak in order to perform essential duties as a referee.
Education
Must be at least 16 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent desirable.
All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
