Job description

Hunt Electric, LLC of Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a full-time Assistant Controller to report directly to the Corporate Controller. This position offers strong opportunities for professional growth and advancement within a dynamic and growing organization.


As the Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations, including payroll management, payroll tax filings, accounts receivable oversight, financial analysis, and month-end close processes, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements. You will work closely with department leaders, the finance and executive teams, the Corporate Controller, and CFO as a critical member of the accounting team and will help oversee daily accounting operations in a fast-paced environment.



Major Duties:

  • Manage accounting operations including payroll, payroll tax filings, sales tax reporting and compliance, A/R, A/P, general ledger, and cost accounting.
  • Oversee accounts receivable processes and support cash flow management efforts.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop, implement, and document accounting procedures and internal controls to improve operational efficiency and maintain compliance.
  • Communicate and coordinate with outside audit firms, banks, lessors, insurance providers, vendors, and customers.
  • Analyze financial information and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Support special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Be a self starter.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's degree in accounting and/or CMA or CPA designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and objectivity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and influence positive outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
