Position Details:
The Department of Psychology at Washington State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Teaching sub-track), Career Track faculty positioninPullman, WA, with a specialty in psychological science. We seek applicants who can make a strong contribution to undergraduate education in psychology, including regular teaching of our Introduction to Psychology course. This position is a fixed-term, 9-month, 3-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
You will be expected to teach in-person classes on the Pullman campus, but may be asked to occasionally teach online classes as needed. You will also make service contributions to the department, college, university, and profession. The duties ratio for this position is 80% teaching (24 credit hours per year) and 20% service.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 16, 2027.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), temporary, 9-month, teaching career-track faculty position.
This position is not eligible for overtime
This position works on-site/in-person at the WSU campus in Pullman, WA.
9-Month Academic Salary: $60,000 to $67,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.

Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in any area of psychology by appointment start date.
- Proven or potential for successful teaching and instruction.
- Demonstrated record of or potential to effectively teach and mentor students at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated record of supporting, or potential to support, access and opportunity in teaching and service in alignment with WSU's land grant mission.
