POSITION TITLE Worship Pastor GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Worship Pastor: This is a salaried staff position. You will be leading the contemporary music worship for services at 412 Church.

The Worship Pastor, working with the Lead Pastor and the Teaching Pastor, is responsible to oversee and coordinate the various aspects aspects of the Worship Services.

Calling– You know and feel God has called you to serve Him at 412. Confirmation– Your ministry has been and is affirmed by other believers. Confidence– You have faith in the LORD, His Word and His message. You are able to take risks. You are able to make timely and difficult decisions. Commitment– You are committed to worshiping God with hard work. You are faithful and responsible. You're a self-starter.

You are not passive or lazy. Specific Qualifications for this Role at 412: Has character traits of a pastor/deacon according to 1 Timothy 3:1–13 & Titus 1:6-16 Has a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ Embraces 412's theological position, conviction on Biblical morality, and philosophy of ministry and its practices Has a passion for worship, creative arts, and technical arts ministry Possesses a pastor's heart for the church family and for the community Must have experience in leading worship vocally in a large group setting Can lead and interact with peers positively Can recruit and inspire volunteers and musicians Is skilled at collaboration and team leadership that promotes church vision and unity Has good communication skills EXPECTATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: While also under the authority of the Lead and Executive Pastors, the Worship Pastor will report directly to the Teaching Pastor.

Works 40-50 hours per week (Like our church family, they work 40 hr and then serve Jesus with 5-10 hrs of volunteer work at church. So as staff, we model that same rhythm.) Shepherds his teams (Worship Team, Sound Team, spiritual connecting, team building, encouraging and exhorting. Selects songs, creates worship plans, and sends notifications weekly using Planning Center Online. Directs and leads Thursday night rehearsals. Directs and leads music for Sunday worship services. Directs and oversees music for Wednesday worship service.

Recruits, trains and motivates volunteers, musicians and singers. Schedules singers, band members, sound technicians, etc. for rehearsals and services. Works within a budget regarding hiring musicians, singers and purchasing equipment (with pre-approval from the Executive Pastor). Manages the stage designs, equipment and lighting needs for all worship spaces. Attends weekly pastoral staff meetings.

Plans and leads special services with other staff: funerals, Christmas events, men's breakfasts, retreats, etc. Tithes to 412. Here are a few reasons: it's an act of worship (Phil 4:18), it's a matter of ensuring the leaders heart loves the church family (Mat 6:21), it's key to be an example for those we lead (Phil 4:9) and it keeps leaders from hypocrisy (I Cor 9:27), etc.
