Job description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations for a logistics organization in Long Beach, California. This role will oversee financial reporting, closing activities, cash management, and team guidance while helping ensure accuracy across essential accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, sound judgment, and the ability to support leadership with clear financial insights and reliable reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation of monthly, periodic, and annual financial reports, ensuring results are delivered accurately and on schedule.
• Partner with internal accounting teams to compile and present financial information that supports executive decision-making.
• Oversee close-cycle activities across general ledger, revenue, fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, and bank reconciliations.
• Review account reconciliations and journal entries, resolving discrepancies and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
• Analyze financial results, identify key variances, and provide meaningful commentary on business performance.
• Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable processes while maintaining strong controls over daily accounting operations.
• Coordinate cash management activities, including forecasting liquidity needs, monitoring borrowing arrangements, and supporting compliance with credit-related requirements.
• Monitor disbursements, incoming cash activity, and operating cash flow to help improve financial efficiency and stability.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, banks, insurers, and other financial partners.
• Coach and develop accounting staff, including team members across A/P, A/R, and G/L functions, while reinforcing adherence to policies and procedures.• Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes within a multi-function accounting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation practices.
• Ability to prepare and review financial statements with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
• Background supporting financial statement audits and working with external audit or tax partners.
• Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management activities.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret variances and communicate financial results clearly.
• Proven ability to lead, review, and develop accounting staff in a fast-paced business setting.
