Duration: 12 MONTHS
Location: Morton. IL
The main function of a logistics planning analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical planning analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
โ€ข Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
โ€ข Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
โ€ข Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
โ€ข Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
Skills:
โ€ข Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
โ€ข Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
โ€ข Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
โ€ข Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Education/Experience:
โ€ข High school diploma or GED required.
โ€ข 2-4 years related experience required.
Additional Role Details: The main function of this logistics planning analyst is to prevent and resolve transportation problems threatening the on-time export of parts and components from the United States to factories and parts distribution centers in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe. This transportation analyst is responsible for reviewing the progress of shipments to make sure they make it to railyards and ports on time, that all necessary paperwork is submitted on time, and to report out on the status of these ocean shipments.
