Job description

About the Role
JM Test Systems is looking for an ESL- Rubber Technician to join ourElectrical Safety Lab. In this role, you'll test, clean, inspect, and certify highvoltage personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure it meets ASTM standardsand keeps electrical workers safe on the job. No prior experience is required;full training is provided in-house, working alongside our Lab Manager,Assistant Manager, and Lead Technicians.
This is a great entry point for someone who's mechanicallyinclined, detail-oriented, and eager to learn a specialized trade in electricalsafety testing.
What You'll Do
  • Receive daily job assignments and prioritize testing work accordingly
  • Visually inspect PPE (rubber gloves, sleeves, blankets, and related equipment) to identify service needs
  • Clean PPE by hand or machine according to ASTM standards and manufacturer specifications
  • Perform dielectric testing and record pass/fail results
  • Collect, compile, and record accurate test data for all recordkeeping requirements
  • Certify PPE by verifying it meets ASTM performance standards
  • Stamp test dates and complete documentation for equipment returned to customers
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and ready for new assignments
  • Train less experienced technicians as you gain experience
  • Represent JM Test Systems professionally while delivering excellent customer service

What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to stand at a workbench for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Comfortable working in a lab setting, including confined spaces alongside a team
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing procedures precisely
  • Ability to work independently once trained, with limited supervision
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
