Job description

Ignite Your Passion in the Lab: Be Part of a Thriving Diagnostic Team Near Scenic Reno
Overview
We are on the lookout for a Clinical Laboratory Technician who harmonizes scientific curiosity with meticulous attention to detail-an individual whose commitment to precision will redefine patient care one specimen at a time. In this full-time, first-shift position at a community hospital nestled in the breathtaking Reno area, you will play a crucial role in delivering life-altering diagnostic information. Collaborating with like-minded colleagues, you will benefit from a comprehensive rewards package tailored to support not just your career trajectory but your overall well-being.
Description - What You'll Be Engaged With
  • Conduct both routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests-from blood work to immunological studies-in adherence to established laboratory standards.
  • Evaluate test results for reliability, troubleshoot discrepancies, and perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
  • Support the specimen collection process and prepare samples for analysis as necessary.
  • Thoroughly document all clinical practices, mentor new colleagues or trainees, and uphold established quality assurance protocols.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety within the laboratory while complying with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Education Requirements
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or a related accredited health science degree, plus preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.
Certification Requirements
  • Hold an ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) that must be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Maintain current certification throughout your tenure.
Essential Skills
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Adept at exercising independent judgment and problem-solving in fast-paced or challenging scenarios.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly in documentation and quality control processes.
Benefits Offered
  • Attractive annual salary based on experience and credentials.
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage.
  • Generous PTO starting from day one, along with holiday time and credit for prior work experience.
  • Ongoing education opportunities and support for professional development.
  • A well-rounded total rewards package aimed at your holistic wellness.

Charting the Course of Patient Lives
In this role, your meticulous work behind the microscope drives crucial clinical decisions and impacts patient outcomes. Each test you conduct holds the potential to confirm diagnoses-guiding treatment paths and improving lives. Your expertise ensures the accuracy that both clinicians and patients depend upon every day.
A Spirit of Teamwork and Progress
This is more than just a job; it's participation in a collaborative community. You will join a motivated team that prizes continuous learning and improvement. Regular in-service training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and initiatives for enhancing lab processes promote an environment where your ideas are welcomed. Engaging in committees, suggesting enhancements, and mentoring new staff will empower you further.
An Inviting Community: Where Nature Meets Nurture
Imagine a scenic Reno, brimming with outdoor activities and scenic vistas-where stunning mountains cradle a glowing city of adventure. Farmers' markets overflow with fresh produce, while art festivals and culinary events celebrate local creativity. You'll find quaint cafés and vibrant community spaces that encourage engagement and connection. Your free days could involve hiking, biking, or soaking in the exhilarating atmosphere of local concerts and street fairs. The genuine friendliness of the people you meet here fosters a sense of belonging that extends deep into the healthcare sphere-the same nurturing spirit that characterizes our lab community.
Access to hiking trails, art galleries, and shops caters to every interest you might have, whether it's enjoying nature or exploring local culture. Commuting is effortless compared to larger urban hubs, allowing you to spend more time enjoying everything this rich environment has to offer. Cost-effective housing ensures that your salary goes further, facilitating experiences that cultivate enjoyment and relaxation-whether you're enjoying a weekend getaway or rooting for your local sports teams.
Impacting Community Health Through Excellence
In this vibrant region, your role as a lab technician transcends typical job descriptions. You become integral to the framework supporting community health. Your contributions lead to timely diagnoses, safer patient care, and ultimately, happier health outcomes. Gratifying notes of appreciation reflect the profound impact of your accurate lab work-serving not just as data but as a bridge connecting care to those who need it.
Join Us in Shaping the Future of Healthcare
If you desire more than just a job-if you're motivated by purpose, growth, and service to others-this opportunity awaits you. Whether you're a recent graduate or a seasoned pro, you will find a supportive and challenging atmosphere here, enriched with opportunities to flourish.
Ready to Embrace Your Next Adventure?
Step into a position where your analytical talents meet a community that celebrates both innovation and caring. Here, where every lab result matters, you'll contribute to narratives of hope and healing. If you have a passion for precision, teamwork, and respond wholeheartedly to the call of service, we eagerly await your arrival.
Apply now and become part of a journey where every lab test could potentially transform lives-and where science is as much about humanity as it is about accuracy.
