To become a flagger, you typically need to complete a traffic control training course and obtain a certification such as the OSHA-approved flagger certification. Some positions may require a valid driver's license and physical fitness for the job environment.

How much do entry level flaggers make?

Entry-level flaggers typically earn between $12 and $16 per hour, depending on location and experience. Many flaggers receive additional pay for night shifts, overtime, or working in hazardous conditions, and certification in traffic control can improve earning potential.
