This role serves as a technical resource and key liaison between engineering, maintenance, and production teams, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing performance.
Senior Controls Engineer - Powertrain Manufacturing
This role offers a strong foundation for a Controls Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to grow within a high-volume powertrain manufacturing environment, supporting transmission and engine assembly operations. You will provide hands-on, day-to-day production support while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across controls, automation, and electrical systems.
The position focuses on supporting the design, modification, optimization, and troubleshooting of PLC- and HMI-based control systems, primarily using platforms such as Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation, along with related motion, safety, and industrial networking components. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you'll help diagnose equipment and process issues, support change implementation, and assist with maintaining stable, repeatable production processes for critical powertrain components.
You'll collaborate closely with controls engineers, maintenance technicians, process engineers, and production teams to resolve technical issues, reduce downtime, and improve throughput on automated assembly lines. This role is ideal for an engineer eager to deepen PLC programming skills, build system-level understanding, and develop the communication and problem-solving capabilities required in a fast-paced, technically demanding manufacturing environment.

  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, modification, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and automation systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including OEM manuals, software/firmware updates, safety notices, and recommended improvements.
  • Analyze basic equipment performance data to help identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process and reliability improvements.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and process engineering teams, contributing to faster issue resolution and improved system understanding.
  • Build technical depth through knowledge sharing, learning from experienced engineers while gradually supporting peers and technicians as skills develop.

Minimum Requirements

OR
