Job description

American Driver has an opening for a CDL A driver based in Meridian, MS. This is a full-time W2 OTR position with a paid training program for drivers who are newer to the industry and want a solid foundation before going solo.

Meridian sits right on the I-20/I-59 corridor — good starting point for Eastern routes with consistent freight.

The Training Program:

  • Paid 4–6 weeks riding with an experienced mentor
  • Covers inspections, ELD compliance, HOS rules, and real freight operations
  • You get paid every week during training
  • After training, solo pay starts at $0.56 CPM

Day to Day:

  • Dry van, no-touch loads
  • Roughly 60% drop and hook
  • Consistent 2,200–2,500 miles weekly
  • Mix of day and night runs based on dispatch

Pay Breakdown:

  • $0.56–$0.65 CPM based on experience
  • Weekly earnings typically land between $1,200–$1,500
  • Additional pay for stops, layovers, and breakdowns
  • Six-month pay review
  • $300 paid orientation
  • Weekly direct deposit

Home Time:

  • Every two weeks on a set, planned schedule

Equipment:

  • Assigned Freightliner or Kenworth (2022–2025)
  • All trucks equipped with APUs
