Controller

A client of CFS is currently seeking a Controller to lead their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Controller who enjoys mentoring staff, improving processes, and partnering with leadership in a stable organization that offers flexibility and strong benefits.

Responsibilities of the Controller
  • Own the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.

  • Prepare month-end and year-end financial statements.

  • Lead the annual audit and work closely with external auditors.

  • Evaluate current accounting processes and implement improvements where needed.

  • Oversee and mentor a team of 8, including AP/AR Specialists, Staff Accountants, and Senior Accountants.

  • Partner with leadership on financial reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications of the Controller
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus.

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Strong Excel and ERP system experience.

  • Sage ERP experience is highly preferred.

  • Experience with process improvements or ERP implementations is a plus.
