8th Grade Math Teacher

Job Purpose

Helix Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and engaging 8th Grade Math Teacher to support student achievement and academic growth. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment, deliver high quality instruction aligned with state standards, and build strong relationships with students, families, and staff. This position plays an important role in supporting the school's mission and helping students prepare for high school success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction and Student Learning

  • Teach 8th grade math content aligned with Louisiana state standards
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans using effective instructional strategies
  • Present math concepts in meaningful ways with real world applications
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all learners
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed
  • Provide interventions, support, and progress updates for students requiring additional assistance
  • Prepare students for state and district assessments
  • Maintain accurate student grades, attendance, and academic records
