The Terros Health Life Affirming Dual Diagnosis Education and Recovery (LADDER) Program Behavioral Health Technician provides direct management of assigned behavioral health clients and program activities. They facilitate teamwork for LADDER services, conduct recordkeeping and make appropriate referrals. The BHT coordinates member referrals, provides case management services as needed, completes tasks that require serving the members who are enrolled in the LADDER program; liaises with other Program staff, Program Supervisor, Director and medical records staff. They deliver health and wellness recovery-oriented services to members. The BHT participates in vital program evaluation procedures and is responsible for accurate and professional record keeping in required database platforms. This position reports to the LADDER Site Manager. 

Duties May Include:

  • Provides transportation of clients in the Terros ATDT Program as needed; assists in planning transportation through health external partners when necessary; plans routes and facilitates this process in whatever manner needed. Contacts clients by phone to assist them to prepare for pickup in the mornings.
  • Meets with clinical staff as needed to offer observations/information regarding clients. This includes information regarding clients while in the van that is relevant to the clients’ treatment as well as information which may jeopardize staff and/or client safety.
  • Conducts intakes and daily audits of new medical records; assists others in maintaining quality and accuracy of medical records.
  • Facilitates lunch time activity group daily and at least one group weekly. Documents clinical intervention and client response observed in these groups.
  • Facilitates leisure activities as needed or assigned including program outings in the community.
  • Participates in morning treatment meeting; is a member of the clinical team; is involved in client orientation, treatment planning and client progress.
  • Reports safety concerns promptly to clinical staff or program manager.
  • Develops and maintains resource log of discharge plans and activities; develops relationships with these agencies/services in the community; ensures continuity of care by assisting clients in becoming involved/enrolled in these activities prior to discharge and may include transportation clients to these community resources to assist with community re-integration.
  • Maintains engagement with clients, is responsible for following up with case manager and other involved parties regarding referrals, scheduled intakes and any outreach attempts both in office and out in the community. Documents all coordination and outreach attempts.

  • High School Diploma or GED, as well as a combination of behavioral health education and work experience totaling a minimum of three years or an Associate’s degree in any field, plus two years of work experience in a behavioral health service delivery.
  • Customer service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with flexibility, and within prescribed deadlines.
  • Proficiency with computer-based systems including electronic health records, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have valid Arizona driver’s license, be 21 years of age with minimum 3 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.
  • Must pass a TB Test.
