Counselor
Full-Time | Martinsville, IN

As a Counselor at our Recovery Works Martinsville, Indiana location, you will provide direct clinical counseling services and support continuity of care from admission through discharge and follow-up. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based substance use treatment through individual, group, and family counseling while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work from an accredited college or university, as required by the state of Indiana
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in substance use treatment, mental health counseling, or a related field
  • Must be credentialed under the Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) as one of the following:
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC)

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the clinical team in patient care decisions and attend all required clinical meetings
  • Assess counseling needs and conduct substance use evaluations using DSM criteria and ASAM guidelines
  • Obtain and review prior treatment records relevant to the current episode of care
  • Develop and implement individualized counseling treatment plans
  • Provide substance use counseling services, including individual, group, and family sessions
  • Reassess patients and revise treatment plans as clinically indicated
  • Develop discharge and continuum-of-care plans to ensure appropriate transitions
  • Participate fully as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Document all counseling services, assessments, reassessments, referrals, and follow-ups in the patient's clinical record
  • Maintain an assigned caseload, including case management, utilization review updates, treatment planning, and clinical charting
  • Coordinate support services for patients and families and document all services provided
  • Communicate and coordinate with referral sources (legal, school, employer, etc.)
  • Facilitate crisis interventions using a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach
  • Complete assigned administrative and clinical responsibilities
  • Attend team meetings and complete all required training in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
