PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This role is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation and continuous improvement of test systems, processes, and analytics. The engineer serves as a technical lead and mentor, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and volume production through robust testing strategies and process discipline.


GENERAL FUNCTIONS / SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Promote the Bird Family Values: Trust, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement, and Accountability.

2. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and structured problem-solving.

3. Lead the architecture and implementation of automated test systems for RF, DC, and functional testing.

4. Lead quality engineering and test framework development for production applications, REST APIs, and relational databases.

5. Lead integration of test frameworks based on structured architectural patterns.

6. Define and track KPIs using tools such as Power BI for real-time test analytics and yield monitoring.

7. Lead test optimization efforts including DFT reviews, coverage validation, and root cause analysis.

8. Ensure cybersecurity compliance across all software and data assets related to test systems.

9. Own final code merge and release readiness decisions


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES (Applicant must meet all to be considered):

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Software Engineering Technology or equivalent

· 5+ years of experience with software development or test-automation engineering.

· Demonstrated technical leadership and system ownership experience

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments

· Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server

· Expert-level experience developing and supporting test systems using:

· C# (WinForms) for shop-floor applications

· Python (FastAPI or similar) for service/API development

· Strong understanding of test system architecture, including:

· separation of UI, API, and database layers

· controlled data flow and validation

· traceability and audit-defensible data practices

· Excellent communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills


DESIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES (Applicants may be considered even if they do not possess any or all of these):

  • Experience with RF test systems, instrumentation and/or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 or similar compliance frameworks
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Experience with Power BI or data analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks and instrumentation control
