Job description

Location: Scottsdale, AZ (in-office, hybrid eligible after training)
Compensation: $45K–$55K base (DOE) + uncapped commission
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
At ESI, we connect exceptional educators and support professionals with Arizona public schools. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and relationship-driven Recruiter to help identify, attract, and place top educational talent. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping schools find exceptional talent. This position reports to the Business Development Program Manager and is part of a small but growing team. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to help build something special from the ground up that directly impacts the K-12 community around them.
About the Role
The Recruiter owns the full-cycle search for every open position — sourcing and building strong candidate pipelines from multiple channels, screening and interviewing candidates to assess fit, and guiding each candidate through a smooth, well-communicated process from first outreach through placement. This includes keeping accurate, up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system throughout every search. Ultimately, success in this role comes down to one thing: consistently matching qualified candidates to the right position based on their background, skills, and career goals.
About ESI
ESI is Arizona’s leading provider of educational staffing solutions, with a 25+ year reputation as a trusted partner to districts across the state. As we expand into new markets, we’re looking for a Recruiter who is energized by building programs that create value for clients, employees, and the communities we serve.
What Makes ESI Special
  • A casual, results-focused atmosphere where autonomy is expected and rewarded
  • Genuine work–life balance — people-first philosophy where personal relationships are valued
  • Purposeful work that improves education and supports Arizona schools
  • A collaborative culture where every voice is welcome and equally heard
  • A career, not just a job — with a real path to grow with the company
What You’ll Do
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for K-12 roles including teachers, paraprofessionals, allied health, and district support staff.
  • Build proactive pipelines of certified educators and educational support candidates through community networking, digital outreach, and partnerships.
  • Post job openings, review applications, conduct initial interviews, and ensure a seamless hiring experience.
  • Ensure all compliance, certification, and credentialing requirements are met prior to placement.
Candidate Engagement & Experience
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through consistent communication, professionalism, and support during sourcing, onboarding, and placement.
  • Represent ESI at job fairs, university events, and virtual career sessions to attract new candidates to the ESI community.
  • Champion ESI’s mission to serve schools and strengthen Arizona’s educational workforce.
Data & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate candidate and client records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Track and be accountable for performance metrics such as time-to-fill, fill rate, acceptance rate, candidate retention, and district satisfaction.
  • Support background checks, fingerprint clearance, and state certification verification in compliance with Arizona Department of Education and other applicable agencies.
What You’ll Bring — Required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of recruiting experience, ideally in education, staffing, or public-sector environments.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be local to the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of Arizona education systems, teacher certification pathways, and school district operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with contract staffing programs a plus.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with both educators and district stakeholders.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
  • Proficient in applicant tracking systems (e.g. Bullhorn, Ceipal, JazzHR), Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual recruiting platforms.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication - equally comfortable and effective with in-person, phone, email, messaging, and video communication.
  • Strong computer and systems proficiency including Microsoft Office suite, email, messaging, webinar, video conference, applicant tracking systems (e.g. Bullhorn, Ceipal, JazzHR), and CRM systems

Compensation & Benefits
  • $45K–$55K base salary (DOE), plus uncapped commission
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Group health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • Paid vacation time and Arizona Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act Paid Sick Time
Location & Travel
Position is based in-office at ESI’s Scottsdale, AZ headquarters, with eligibility for a hybrid arrangement after a successful training and/or probationary period. Regular in-person meetings and on-site training is expected. Dress code ranges from casual to business formal.
Local and regional travel may be required (less than 10%).
