A day in the life
At 2:30 pm in our Minneapolis, MN 55414 facility, you step onto the floor, blueprint packet in hand. You review drawings, verify tolerances, and plan your bends and insertions. You set up the press brake, dial in the tooling, and move to the hardware insertion station to fasten components before final assembly. Throughout the shift, you collaborate with teammates to troubleshoot fit-up challenges, check quality against specifications, and document your work. Before 1:00 am, you finish with a thorough clean-up so the next build starts strong.
What you’ll do
- Translate blueprints, drawings, and specifications into precisely fabricated sheet metal parts.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including press brakes and hardware insertion machines; complete assemblies as required.
- Confirm parts meet dimensional and cosmetic quality standards and customer specs.
- Partner with peers to solve fabrication issues quickly and effectively.
- Uphold safety and housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, compliant work area.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in sheet metal is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication or a closely related role.
- Solid command of fabrication methods, shop math, and common tools.
- Fluency in reading and interpreting technical drawings/blueprints.
- Detail orientation and pride in quality workmanship.
- Problem-solving mindset; comfortable working independently and with a team.
- Knowledge of fabrication safety protocols and regulations.
