Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare sterile compounded medications in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), USP 795, USP 797, USP 800 standards, and company SOPs.
  • Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy.
  • Ensure all medications are labeled and stored correctly.
  • Conduct quality assurance and sterility testing as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all medications prepared and dispensed.
  • Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests from healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise and manage pharmacy technicians and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Drug Quality and Security Act (DQSA) and the policies of the FDA regarding 503B compounding pharmacies.
  • Participate in the development, review, and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Manage inventory and place orders for pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice and participate in continuing education programs.
  • Day shift schedule: Monday - Friday, no weekends.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • Experience in a 503B compounding pharmacy is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of USP 795, 797, and 800 guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
