Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC 5-Axis Hurco Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate has strong CNC machining experience, excellent blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot 5-axis Hurco machining centers.

This position is responsible for producing high-quality precision components while maintaining tight tolerances, meeting production schedules, and following established quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC machining strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating Hurco CNC machines preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to perform CNC machine setups independently.
  • Ability to make tool offsets, wear adjustments, and basic program edits.
  • Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, workholding, and machining processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and dimensional problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


 

Main duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Hurco 5-axis CNC machining centers.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
  • Load and verify CNC programs and make necessary program offsets and adjustments.
  • Select, install, and measure cutting tools and workholding.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate tooling, offset, and process adjustments.
  • Maintain tight dimensional tolerances and consistent part quality.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Identify tooling wear and replace tooling as needed.
  • Work closely with engineering, programming, and quality personnel to resolve machining and quality issues.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Complete required production and inspection documentation.

 

$25.00 - 38.00 per hour
