Join Apple's innovative team where you will contribute to the development and verification of cutting-edge wireless technologies. We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Verification and Integration Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of our 4G/5G firmware. You will be a key member of a cross-functional team, collaborating with component validation, integration, protocol test, firmware development, and system engineering teams.","responsibilities":"Designing and developing robust validation frameworks and comprehensive test cases for 4G/5G firmware.
Implementing and maintaining test automation for 4G/5G User Equipment (UEs), test simulators, and carrier OTA drops.
Verifying critical protocol, signal processing, and numerical algorithms, ensuring performance within stringent time, latency, and energy budgets.
Debugging and analyzing issues identified during testing, working closely with firmware development and systems design teams to drive resolution.
Evaluating and implementing advanced tools for build, formal verification, and testing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic Knowledge of 4G/5G 3GPP physical layer and protocol stack procedures and configurations.
Experience with network emulators, silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms.
Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java).
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirement of a bachelors degree.
Strong understanding of wireless and digital communication theory and concepts such as Modulation, channel coding techniques and digital signal processing.
Good knowledge of wireless signal propagation, channels fading and RF concepts.
Understanding of basic Cellular communication systems and various division multiple access techniques.
Good programming/Coding ability using C/C++, Python or any other language.
Analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues and collaborate effectively with development/design teams for resolution.
Knowledge of source code control tools.
Ability to quickly adapt and learn new architectures and frameworks.
Familiarity with AI/ML tools and techniques for test optimization, data analysis, or complex system verification.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,300 and $210,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
