Advanced Dermatology, PLLC is a medical practice started in St. Joseph, Michigan in 1999 by Board Certified Dermatologist Mark A. Kuriata, DO, FAOCD, FAAD. Currently, Advanced Dermatology, PLLC has a second location in Dowagiac, Michigan. Every year, Advanced Dermatology, PLLC strives to provide the highest quality dermatologic care to thousands of patients in the Southwest Michigan and Michiana communities. The practice treats a high volume of general and surgical dermatologic conditions. Dr. Kuriata also has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Mohs Micrographic Surgery through the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology (AOBD.) This sub-specialty provides surgical cure rates up to 99%.  A cosmetic branch of the practice also offers cosmetic skin treatments, including Botox, fillers, laser treatments, Ultherapy, Coolsculpting and more.

Are you a Medical Assistant seeking an exciting position in an outpatient practice? We are looking for you! Advanced Dermatology is currently hiring CCMA's, CMA's and RMA's to work full-time or part-time shifts ranging from 16 to 40 hours per week. Job shifts are typically 8-9 hours per day with office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*, and time off for lunch.

The Medical Assistant will function as a member of the patient care team. Typically, Medical Assistants will be responsible for assisting the physician in taking vital signs, obtaining chief complaints and medical histories while utilizing portable iPads for EMR. The Medical Assistant may also assist with biopsies and select surgical or cosmetic procedures. Other responsibilities include scribing in the electronic medical record system, completing pathology and lab requisition documents, educating patients on treatment plans and medications, along with completing nursing procedures, such as suture removal, dressing changes, allergen patch testing, and more.

Compensation will be dependent on experience and work history.

*At times, shifts may run past 5:00 p.m. but these instances are rare.

Requirements:

    Private practice and/or dermatology experience a plus but will train

    Must provide a copy of MA certification or registration

    Basic computer skills - Email, Microsoft Word, etc.

    Comfortable using a tablet device like an iPad

    EHR/EMR experience a plus, but will train
