Occasional lifting / carrying of objects up to 20 lbs. Regular repetitive motion and sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
Shift
Monday-Friday 9:00 am- 5:00 pm, some evening and weekend hours possible due to experiments, but not exceeding 40h/week
Job Summary
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry seeks a Laboratory Technician Sr. to join the lab of Dr. Elizabeth Abshire.
This newly established RNA biology lab will study how cells respond to signals from their environment by regulating mRNA metabolism. The successful applicant should be highly motivated, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and a desire to learn and contribute to research in the lab.
The applicant should have at least one year of previous experience in a laboratory setting. Experience with aseptic/sterile technique, mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology techniques is desired. Please attach your resume with three professional references.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Some experience with basic lab skills including pipetting, making solutions, and sterile/aseptic technique.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree with at least one year of full-time lab experience.
