Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience (cardiac ICU experience strongly preferred)
  • EPIC electronic charting system experience required
  • Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission) — Ohio fingerprinting required upon contract signing
  • Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
  • Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel nurse jobs in Columbus / Ohio travel nursing positions
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult patients with complex cardiac and medical needs as an ICU RN
  • Manage and monitor ventilators, telemetry, and advanced cardiac devices (IABP, Impella, CRRT, EKOS)
  • Perform IV starts, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central/PICC line care
  • Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Administer emergency medications and procedural sedation when indicated
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
  • Float to different units within the OSU organization as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation using the EPIC system
