Detailed Job Description:
A consulting firm is currently leading the strategy, road mapping, and process optimization efforts across supply chain and manufacturing areas, working closely with client's process owners. As part of this exercise, they are seeking support from IT partners who can actively participate in these discussions. The profiles we provide will effectively serve as the eyes and ears for the client IT SMEs, ensuring alignment and continuity throughout the program.
These individuals will play a critical role in shaping the overall program direction and the Program Director profile will be interviewed directly by the CIO.
Please note that candidates must have relevant domain backgrounds such as lab operations, quality, energy/sustainability, engineering, and manufacturing. Without the appropriate experience and understanding, they will not be able to add value or meet the expectations of this engagement. This was the clear ask from the client.
Role and Workstream: Project Manager - Site Flow & Performance Excellence
Required Experience:
Required Experience (7+ Years)
Must demonstrate proven delivery and management of I.T projects in manufacturing/pharma operations including:
โ€ข Experience managing end-to-end projects related to shopfloor performance, production planning & scheduling, workforce/shift optimization
โ€ข Background delivering real-time KPI tracking, operational dashboards, performance reporting across sites
โ€ข Familiarity with integrated planning solutions connected to ERP/manufacturing systems
โ€ข Exposure to Lean/Operational Excellence practices (tier meetings, standard work)
โ€ข Experience coordinating operations, production planning, manufacturing excellence, IT stakeholders
Key activities that will be in-scope would include:
1. Project planning & Activities
a. Develop and maintain detailed project plans including activities, milestones, dependencies, resource plans, and effort estimates.
b. Apply project level change control, risk management, and issue management processes in line with program governance.
c. Project planning, Change Management process and Risk management.
2. Requirements, Design & Coordination
a. Facilitate workshops with business and I.T teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood, documented, and verified.
b. Coordinate solution design and specification activities with architects, technical leads, and vendors.
c. Ensure configuration and technical specification documents for the workstream are created/updated as needed.
3. Execution, Testing & Validation
a. Coordinate build and configuration activities with internal teams and external partners, tracking progress and resolving blockers
b. Plan and oversee unit, integration, and regression testing, and support formal validation in accordance with client standards.
c. Support creation and maintenance of work instructions, user guides, and other documentation for new capabilities.
4. Change Management & Training Support
a. Initiate and track project specific change controls and approvals per client processes.
b. Support the Program Manager and business leads with training plans and roll out to SMEs and end users.
c. Communicate project impacts, timelines, and expectations to stakeholders and RUN teams for the assigned workstream.
5. Data & Environment Readiness
a. Coordinate data requirements, mapping and validation activities for testing and go live.
b. Confirm environment readiness (development, test, pre production, production) aligned to the project schedule
6. Go-live & Hypercare
a. Prepare detailed cutover plans aligned with program level cutover, including tasks, owners, and back out options.
b. Coordinate go live activities for the workstream and support go/no go decisions.
c. Manage post go live hyper-care (typically 4 weeks or as agreed) to ensure stabilization and issue resolution.
7. Reporting and Communication:
a. Provide regular status reporting (Daily/Weekly/Monthly as requested) to the Program Manager and client stakeholders
b. Maintain accurate and current project documentation and RAID logs.
c. Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly executive reporting for their workstream
The Selected partner is responsible:
โ€ข Facilitate workshops with business and IT teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood, documented, and verified.
โ€ข Deliver all tasks in Project execution starting from Pre-upgrade planning phase to end of Production support.
โ€ข Deliver all validation documentation as requested from IT Quality and CSV teams
โ€ข Creation of change control, update, and route for approval process as per client process.
โ€ข Responsible for being in touch with business and IT team continuously and updating the project progress, risks, and issues.
โ€ข Responsible for adhering to project timelines and sending the Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports as requested by client team.
