If so, we are looking for you!As a Senior Marine Mechanical Engineer (Propulsion), you willWork within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard - Surface Forces Logistics Center.Join a well-established team that gives you the opportunity to grow.Receive robust benefits package that includes Employee Stock Ownership Plan!Be a part of an empowered accountability culture where each employee-owner has a meaningful stake in the future success and growth of the company.ResponsibilitiesAssist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine systems, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as auxiliary systems, HVAC&R, piping systems.Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.Conduct analyses of various auxiliary systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.Conduct trade studies regarding auxiliary system configuration.Conduct mechanical engineering analysis.Create graphical representations of structures and systems.Inspect auxiliary equipment or systems.Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.Prepare technical reports for internal use.Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard auxiliary systems and piping review.Develop technical data packages.Provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements.Conduct and oversee trade studies.Lead engineers in development efforts.Coordinate with other functional areas to complete ship design.Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience.Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards relating to shipboard auxiliary systems.Minimum of 6 years' documented experience with design, optimization, and integration of marine auxiliary and piping systems, ship machinery integration, cargo handling systems, and weight handling systems calculations and analyses.Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. auxiliary systems, piping systems, fluids and hydraulics).Experience with Auto-CAD.Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.Clearance RequirementsApplicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
