Client Care Specialist 3rd Shift – Full Time- Emergency Shelter
Schedule: Friday – Monday: 9:00pm- 7:30am | Rate of pay: $18.50 per hour + Shift Differential + Weekend Warrior

The Rescue Mission is seeking a Full Time 3rd Shift Client Care Specialist to work the Weekend Warrior Shift (Sunday-Monday 9:00pm-7:30am) in our Syracuse Emergency Shelter. The Client Care Specialist maintains a safe and supportive environment for clients, utilizing the resources of the Rescue Mission to ensure a healthy and pleasant stay and provide an environment of positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build rapport with clients, offering motivation and support while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and respectful environment by monitoring facilities, conducting rounds, distributing personal care items, and enforcing guidelines.
  • Administer and monitor drug and breathalyzer tests as needed.
  • Facilitate client access to internal services and refer them appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate important client information with confidentiality.
  • Uphold and model the Rescue Mission's vision, mission, and core values in all internal and external interactions.
  • Participate in regular training and team meetings.
  • Promote a culture of safety and demonstrate leadership in upholding safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in crisis situations
  • Sensitivity, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Regular, predictable in-person attendance
Preferred:
  • Associate’s degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with homeless, addicted, or mentally ill populations
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License (in compliance with company criteria)
  • Covid-19 vaccination, including booster (when eligible), is strongly encouraged
Rate of Pay:
Starting Pay rate - $18.50 per hour
3rd Shift Differential (9:00pm-7:30am) – Additional $2.00 per hour
Weekend Warrior (only scheduled shifts Friday-Monday) - Additional $1.00 per hour
Available Work Schedule:
Friday – Monday: 9:00pm- 7:30am
