Job Description
As a Fiber Machine Operator-Lead, you will monitor and delegate workloads for a team while operating and tending machines in the manufacture of fiber products. You will ensure adherence to safety standards and quality specifications while maintaining efficient operations. This role requires leadership skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Complete production work orders by following written or verbal instructions and/or sample assemblies.
  • Set up materials, and operate and tend manually controlled and/or automated manufacturing equipment/machine according to guidelines and work instructions. Activate the machine/equipment to start a production cycle. Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed) as needed based on customer/product specifications. Feed raw material to semi-automated machines. Inspect products using measuring tools to ensure conformity to specifications. Check output for mistakes, product flaws and/or product contamination.
  • Operate equipment for the blending and processing of natural or synthetic fibers.
  • Maintain production records of approved and defective units or final products in accordance with work.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED and at least one year of industry-related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operational instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Proficient in computer skills relevant to manufacturing operations.
