Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our modern, privately owned general dentistry practice in Hayward, CA with a vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care by assisting dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your knowledge of dental technology and patient management, will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills within a dynamic healthcare setting committed to excellence.

This isn't a training role — we need someone who can step in from day one and run chairside with minimal onboarding. We are not looking to train someone into the basics. We're looking for an RDA who's done this for years, has a steady chairside manner, and takes pride in making patients feel genuinely cared for.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists chairside during general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty procedures with precision and professionalism
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols
  • Take and process digital X-rays and operate a 3D scanner for advanced imaging
  • Chart accurately in Dentrix and maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records
  • Perform vital signs assessments and document medical histories to support comprehensive patient care
  • Sterilize instruments and manage sterilization compliance
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care in a way that actually lands
  • Maintain supply and equipment inventory
  • Assist with pediatric patients and vital sign assessments as needed
  • You will be required to work on Saturdays

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on RDA experience in a dental office
  • Active California RDA license
  • Strong knowledge of Dentrix, dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental assisting best practices
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists
  • Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise
  • Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and oral surgery support
  • Rock-solid grasp of aseptic technique, four-handed dentistry, and dental/medical terminology
  • Ability to operate X-ray machines for dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately
  • Knowledge of dental instruments processing, medical documentation standards, and dental equipment maintenance
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus

Join us if you’re passionate about delivering top-tier patient care in a fast-paced environment! We value energetic professionals who are eager to make a positive impact on patients’ lives while advancing their clinical skills. This position is fully paid—offering you the opportunity to grow within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in healthcare.

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Employee discount
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
